Name:Jane Anthea Riley
Birthdate:Mar 17
Location:Boston, Massachusetts, United States
The youngest of triplets (two twin brothers born an hour before her), Jane Riley was born in Dublin and moved to Boston at the age of four. She grew up in a loving home, had parents with a healthy relationship, and a strong bond with her siblings despite the fact that her brother, John, showed early signs of emotional disturbance. The triplets were all clearly bright as children, but it became increasingly clear that John outshone them all...and suffered for his gifts.

Growing up in the shadow of her younger brother's dysfunction, Jane often felt overshadowed, but took it in stride. Gifted in her own right, though Jane did not skip five grades like John, or even one like Jock, Jane had little trouble staying on top of her grades, keeping herself challenged and yet free to pursue countless extracurricular interests. Indulged by her teachers, come high school she turned her love of theater and cleverness in arguments to her advantage: she joined the Mock Trial team.

Mock Trial became Jane's kingdom, her gift and love of the law propelling her with ease towards college. As John's condition worsened over time, however, she soon abandoned her dream of going to Yale in favor of a law program closer to home. Once more, she excelled and graduated from law school with honors, becoming the youngest person, much less the youngest woman, to pass the Massachusetts Bar exam in over twenty years.

Although John is, technically, the founder of Shamrock Investigations, the firm was opened after the triplets graduated from college for one main purpose: to keep John out of trouble. In the early days, while Jock rose through the ranks of the Boston PD, Jane served for two years with the ADA's office, and another year as a public defender before she slowly began to integrate herself into the day to day operations of the firm as it became clear that John couldn't sustain the nuts and bolts of the firm on his own, preferring instead to simply indulge his need for stimulation by investigating cases, forgetting to charge clients, and getting behind on his rent.

Within five years of graduating from college, Jane had retired from actively practicing law and became a legal adviser for Shamrock Investigations. Currently, she helps maintain the day to day operations of the business, holds her own private investigator's license in order to do active field work, and maintains her license to practice law in order to represent the occasional pro bono client under the Shamrock Investigations banner.
